Nigel Blenkiron was born and raised in Reeth, Swaledale and began playing flugelhorn with the village brass band from the age of ten.  After secondary school music making, Nigel studied trumpet at Trinity College of Music, London, also playing bass guitar at this time on the pub and club circuit.

A teaching qualification gained at Reading University was followed by a job with NYCC working around the eastern area of the county, where he still teaches in seven schools.

Nigel also works at Scarborough Area Music Centre, a youth music school, where he was head for 15 years and now concentrates on running the EASY Band.

Interests include building and restoring cars and playing and building bass guitars.
